Reggio Calabria Travel and Tourism

Reggio di Calabria is down at the tip of Italy's boot, only a short boat trip from the popular tourist destination of Sicily. Damaged by earthquakes and the Second World War, it is a surprisingly pleasant and amiable place, busy with traffic but rejoicing in a lovely setting. There may not be many tourist sights but the town is on the tourist map thanks to its superb archaeological museum containing Greek statues and artefacts.

As well as Sicily across the water, the Costa degli Dei ('Coast of the Gods') is nearby where Tropea is the most famous resort.
