Siena are a small club from a small city in Tuscany. Until 2003 the team had never played in Italy's top division but since their promotion they have defied the odds and kept their place with the elite despite some tough relegation fights. Avoiding relegation must again be the aim this season although a victory over their nearest rivals, the mighty Fiorentina would be very welcome.

Siena is a beautiful historic town built on Tuscan hills, surrounded by green countryside. The town has fine buildings and art collections, but its greatest tourist attraction is the Palio, a historic horserace in which the various city districts compete. This event is surrounded by a feast of medieval pageantry and processions.
As well as the sights of Siena, the countryside and villages of Tuscany are on the doorstep, as are the cities of Pisa and Florence.
