About Pisa

Pisa were founded in 1909 but have been forced to re-invent themselves twice under a new name due to financial problems. This happened at the end of the 2008-09 season and as a result the club are now playing in lowly Serie D. They should prove too strong for this division and will probably start their climb back up the leagues.

If you are staying in Pisa over a weekend, taking a few hours out on a Sunday to see some Italian football would be a great option.

Pisa Travel and Tourism

Pisa has long been a favourite destination for a city break and its airport is served by budget flights from the UK. Most famous for one of its architectural masterpieces, the Leaning Tower, Pisa also has other places of interest and can fill a few days. Alternatively a holiday could combine Pisa with a stay in one of the other Tuscan towns like Lucca, Florence or Siena.
