About Piacenza

Piacenza Calcio were founded in 1919 and had a largely anonymous history until their first promotion to Serie A in 1991. Despite never finishing in the top half, they spent most of the following twelve years in the top flight and would have been well known to British followers of Football Italia on Channel 4. Since relegation in 2003 they have been playing in Serie B, hoping for a return to the promised land of Serie A.

Piacenza Travel and Tourism

Occupying a strategic position in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy on the banks of the River Po south of Milan, Piacenza has had a turbulent history. As a result there is plenty to do for a couple of days in the town. You could also combine your trip with a visit to the nearby towns of Parma or Cremona, both well worth seeing. Piacenza can be reached from the UK via airports in Milan or Parma.
