End Of Season Summary
With the season over, Inter have claimed their fifth straight Scudetto, holding off Roma on the last day of the season with victory in Siena. Despite being less than impressive at times, Inter were still the strongest team and for me just deserved the title.
Sampdoria secured the fourth Champions League spot but will need to look for a new manager as Luigi del Neri has left to take over at under-achieving Juventus who could only manage seventh. As a result Juve will have to make do with the Europa League next year.
After finding some form late on, Lazio finished in mid-table and along with Fiorentina will hope for a more successful campaign next season. The relegation places were filled by Siena, Livorno and Atalanta, all of whom struggled to put any run together and looked likely to go down some time ago.
We will have to wait a few weeks for the end of the Serie B season to see who will replace them in Serie A.
